RadioPopper P8
The RadioPopper P8 is a future model slated for development and release in Fall 2008.
The P8 will function exactly as the RadioPopper P1 except it will offer eight different radio frequency channels. The additional channels will make it possible for multiple photographers to run several RadioPopper systems together in the same area.
This should be especially welcome for event photographers who work with a large staff, as well as press, photojournalism, and sports photographers.
Please stay tuned for updates as we develop and prepare to release this new product.
Initial Design Specifications:
Little has been firmly established at this point, but a few initial ideas are known. The P8 will be nearly identical to the P1. However, the upgraded radio transmitters used for this model are significantly larger so at the very least, you can expect a unit that is physically larger.
We're considering a few "extras" also. We may include weather sealing as well as a means to place the unit further away from the Master and Slave flash units with a longer optic, and possibly even the use of multiple optics. We may also extend the magnetic pickup away from the unit itself, so you could mount the unit on a bracket or other support while running a cable to your Master flash for the signal source.
Again, these ideas are purely concepts at this point. We'll see what will actually materialize as development continues.
