The JrX is available in 3 flavors:
JrX Transmitter
The JrX Transmitter is an ultra-compact trigger with amazing range/reliablity. 16 channels, 4 groups of control, 3 dials to control certain strobes’ power levels and huge battery life are a few of its many features. The JrX Transmitter connects directly to any camera with a standard hot-shoe.
JrX Receiver Basic
The JrX Receiver Basic is the ultimate in high reliability triggering at an amazing price. Connect to any strobe with a sync port to achieve perfectly repeatable triggering.
JrX Receiver Studio
The JrX Receiver Studio takes the JrX Receiver Basic and unleashes two great features:
1. EZset Studio: With EZset Studio a photographer can dial up and down the power of all current Alien Bees, White Lightning and Zeus brand strobes. Power levels are controlled directly from camera on either a JrX or PX Transmitter. Up to 3 groups can be independently controlled using EZset Studio.
2. EZset Strobe: With Patent Pending EZset Strobe, a photographer can now dial up and down the power on nearly any past or present handheld TTL capably flash directly from a JrX or PX Transmitter. It is time to dust off those old flashes that you couldn’t sell on ebay for $30! Note that EZset Strobe will need to be used with the RPcube (connects JrX Receiver Sync Port to the hot-shoe of a handheld flash) which will be available in 6-8 weeks for purchase.

More Information to Come:
We are putting the finishing touches on the user guide and also have more detailed product information to come. We will be adding this information to our blog over the next week before opening up the store for orders.

These look very promising.
I do have a couple of questions though.
1 – Will it be possible to remotely set power levels of Canon Speedlights remotely using JrX or JrX Studio receivers and if possible, which transmitter unit will be needed to do so?
2 – When are Radio Poppers going to be shipping to Australia?
Is the range still the same as the initial release?
And i can use ´1/8000sec with studio strobes???
Nice.
In earlier posts you guys suggested that this would be capable of high speed sync with studio strobes. There wasn’t any mention of it here, though. Will the JRX receiver be able to do that?
I too would like to know the range and if there is a capability to remotely fire a camera with the appropriate cable?
I don’t see any hotshoe mount on the receiver – is that one of the functions of the RPCube?
Looks very interesting.
I wonder if this may allow me to sync my various Nikon flashes simultaneously, while allowing on-camera control.
Previously, my modern SB-600s (controlled via CLS) would not sync properly with my older SB-26 flashes (via built-in Slave).
@Florian and Jake.
From my understanding in order to be able to high speed sync you will need a PX transmitter but I could be wrong. Hopefully the guys with the answer can tell us.
@Richard.
As they announced it, we should be able to control the canon speed lights and also any other iTTL/eTTL compatible speedlight which would include nikon, metz, sigma among many. I believe using a compatible speedlight would allow you to change power levels in manual mode by using the JrX TX/RX combo or PX TX / Jr.X RX combo and optionally TTL capabilities with the PX system
Am I correct in that this with work with all current camera systems such as Olympus?
I too would like to know when you will be making these available to australian customers – I just attempted to register at your store but there is no option to have a shipping address outside the USA…
I’ve been waiting for these since the first announcement – cant wait to get some!
Hello,
I have one question :
When are RadioPoppers going to be shipping to France?
Thanks in advance
Richi
Great,
but when will be the radiopopper products avialable in Europe?
Hi This looks good.
Do I have to pack up and move to the U.S to get these ?.Or will both versions
be able on the aug 20 release date.?
Good Work.
Nice, but when will RadioPoppers be available in Europe (CE versions)? I thought you promised they should have been 3-4 months ago – haven’t seen any… Just wondering… And waiting…
YES. This is what I’ve been waiting for. Eager to see the above questions answered.
In order to control our canon speedlites we need to wait for these RPcubes, correct? What exactly is an RPcube?
finally!
*happy Dance
do those ship to Europe, too, or do you need additional certification thingies?
yours
Mu
When you say “With EZset Studio a photographer can dial up and down the power of all current Alien Bees…”. What is a current Alien Bee. My units are about 8 years old. Is this current?
Also, if they aren’t current, is there some sort of upgrade to make them current?
thanks,
Bob
Hey guys,
I love the EZSet Strobe idea. What will be the pricing on the RP Cube? Thanks!
Nice!
The Kit pricing really good, save almost $20!
CR123a, although it’s very long lasting, still hate it… not rechargeable, not available everywhere. still need to carry spare just incase, but quite pricey. I wish RP can use different type of battery, like say AAA?
I’m sure RP will post more details about range, TTL, and other features.
My understanding is that a Canon user don’t have to use ST-E2 anymore to control the power of Canon Speedlite(s)? with the help of RPcube?
RPcube – price???
Hey guys! Awesome Product already. Please though, could you also do a version for Minolta/Sony Hotshoes? Don’t leave us out :/
Best wishes from Germany!
Will i be able to control the power of canon strobs (580EXII) with the ‘JrX studio kit’?
If so that will be very good news!
Great News. Looking forward to picking up a set on Thursday.
Thanks
R
Question,
Is the firmware required PER receiver? (If I buy a studio kit and I want another receiver with studio, do I need the studio receiver or just a basic one? Or does the $39.99 upgrade for the receiver basic to studio cover any amount of updates for whatever amount of receivers I have?)

Would it be possible for a Canon 40D to be able to remotely control older Nikon SB-28 flashes via TTL?… So in other words can Canon DSLRs work with Nikon Flashes by TTL using these?
Any UK date?
Will these work with Sony speedlights???
Can the RP JRX Studio receviers be used with the Pocket Wizard Transmitter?
RP Edit:
Larry – the RadioPopper products are not compatible with any current Pocket Wizard products.
Will you support strobes that do not have a sync port, e.g. Nikon SB-600, via hotshoe? Will I be able to control the power level?..
I have a couple of questions. I have older Nikon flash’s some sb-24 and sb-25 as well as the sb-800. So I can use the JrX remotes on my old nikon flashs and also I have an off brand studio lighting. I can use the JrX as well. It this is true that would be great. If we live in AZ can we pick up instead of shipping. Thanks I have been looking for a wire system for a while and I keep looking at your system.
Yes, I too would like to know if there’s still high speed sync available with White Lightnings…
well, that sounds great: the first radiotransmitter with capability of power adjustment of “old” ttl speedlights. looks like i don´t have to build one myself
but still there are some question especially to the RPCube:
- is the cube just an adaptor to connect the flash to the receiver or is there some electronics inside as well?
- will it be able to connect more than one flash to the receiver?

Please, please, please confirm if there will be a way to utilize these with the Sony system either via special cords or adapters.
I know Canon and Nikon are the priorities for almost everyone, but Sony makes a great system and no other manufacturer is captilizing on the need for a wireless radio system for it. There is a big market for it and many Sony shooters will thank you for it.
Thanks!
I would like to know about the sync speed also…can it go up to 1/8000? IF not, how high can it go reliably?
Thanks.
Compatibility with Sony?
Hi, have you a release date for the UK version?
Great product. Will we be able to mix Canon and Nikon strobes and still manage power individually? Will we even be able to put a Nikon and a Canon strobe on the same group and still adjust the power level with the knobs? And last, how low will the knobs allow us to go down? To 1/128?
Looking forward to the answer. Thanks
I have a ‘hacked’ Canon 580EX with a 1/8 stereo port wired into it. Will all the functionality of the JrX studio version work with this setup?
When will you ship these to Europe? I would like to buy an extended set – a JrX transmitter and 3-4 JrX Studio receivers. Maybe even a Px transmitter.
Looking forward to placing my order!
I’m interested in all of the above questions – including when these may be avialble in Australia
I just want to know if I can use these for HSS with Canon Flashes? Using only the JrX components?
I have the same question as Richard from Australia. Canon Cameras, 2x 580ex II, Nikon SB24, Nikon SB-28
Thanks.
HIgh speed sync seems to be the burning question. Why the silence? Even Mike Fulton and the review on the Strobist have not mentioned anything about HSS. Is that a function to be implemented later? Judging by the interest here, I would think anyone testing the units would have tried HSS right away.
Please let us know if it works or not before we buy them.
Also, on the PX, I assume the only way to adjust the levels of a JRX and other strobes is to press the buttons and step through all the menus to adjust the levels. Might take some practice to “click” through all the menu options every time you want to adjust the levels.
Hello!
Could you give us eager europeans any word on when you might be shipping to here? Or should I cheat and ask a US friend to order some for me & ship them to Finland?
Yes it misses some technical details such as SYnc Speed and Flash compatibilities !
Seens like SB900 won’t work with JRX ?
Would it work if i use an PX emitter on a SU800 and a JRX receiver on the SB900 ?
Thanks
@Jake,
I would assume it’s still there. They said it would only work with a PX transmitter and a JRX receiver. Thats probably why they didn’t mention it when selling the set above.
Can the JrX Transmitter be used with an on-camera flash (SB800) as well as directly on the hotshoe?
Great looking product!
[...] [...]
Has any testing been done with these on the Pentax platform?
Thanks!
EZset Strobe: When? How much? I need to hack it to work with a Vivitar 3900, Sunpak 522 and 622. Please, email me when the EZ Strobe is ready for purchase.
Is this capable of front and rear curten sync? Also, MAX sync speed….1/8000sec, yes?
Why the CR123a battery? I rather have a larger unit which uses AAAs or AAs.
Will there be a break in the price if you get one transmitter and more than one receivers?
Any chance these would be compatible with Olympus? Would love to be able to control the flash output manually from the camera/transmitter.
Any chance of a Frequency modification so they will control the power up and down for the Elinchrom Ranger and new Ranger Quadra. They both use the Skyport wireless to set the power output from the on camera transmitter.
So i could use the Jrx to control both the Ranger and my nikon SB800s like you have it set up for the AB lights???
Thanks
“We are putting the finishing touches on the user guide and also have more detailed product information to come. We will be adding this information to our blog over the next week *before* opening up the store for orders.”
Any word on the user guide before the JrX goes on sale? Many questions remain unanswered…
These look very good. How do I get a set?
