If you guys haven’t been reading Flash Flavor, I’d highly suggest it. There’s a ton of great info on the site.

Matt (the owner and moderator) had a chance to play with a set of P1’s at WPPI in Vegas last week. He posted a preview on the blog. Check it out…

Here’s an image shot by Matt Adcock using the RadioPopper P1 with 3 Canon flashes using ratios between A and B groups. There was a P1 Transmitter on an ST-E2 as a master, and three P1 Receivers on 3 580EX slaves.

That is just beautiful. … A few minutes, and quality. … just think what could happen with a few more minutes of creative thought.

Our photographic future is secured with these tools.

That is rad, great shot. Seriously, this is one of the best marketing blogs out there… way to stay in touch with your audience!

Adcocks’s shot has a great feel to it. It would be helpful to publish a description of the setup.

Just saw the video and it shows the accordian guy being photographed. Cool video of Poppers in action in several settings.
    Nicely done.

Hola kevin, thanks for posting this!

Rex, My setup literally took me .0001 seconds to decide and execute. I have 2 assistants equal distance to camera left and right, holding each slave unit. Camera Right is the B group flash, set to deliver more power than the A group, camera left. The other B group flash was simply placed on the bench behind the accordion, Viola. I promise, no rocket science here..

    Cheers!

    Thanks Matt.
I did end up reading and enjoying your review.
Your picture is fun to look at. Good color, great expression, soft background.
I shot a portrait today for my newspaper’s front page. I used built-in wireless and the high-speed sync feature with a 550 EX strobe on a stand, but struggled with some inconsistant results. When the Canon wireless feature works it’s really great, but as many of us know often you can’t count on it. Poppers will be a welcome addition to my kit that includes Pocket Wizards.
Since flash-to-subject distance can be limited with high-speed sync I’ll probably consider trying two Canon flashes connected together using Popper receivers.
Hats off to Kevin for creating technology that will help us in a big way.
    Rex
